eBay provides an order details document that acts as your invoice for purchases. Depending on the seller and item, this may or may not be a valid tax invoice for ATO purposes — for that, the seller must be GST registered and the document must include their ABN and the GST amount.
To get an invoice from eBay: 1. Sign in to eBay and go to "Purchase history" under My eBay 2. Find the order you need an invoice for 3. Click "More actions" next to the order 4. Select "View order details" or "Print order details" 5. The order summary shows seller, item, price, shipping, and any GST 6. Save the page as a PDF (Ctrl+P → "Save as PDF") for your records
For a proper tax invoice with ABN and itemised GST:
Keep all eBay tax invoices for at least five years if you're claiming them as a business expense.
