Jobber vs Housecall Pro (2026): Pricing, Features and Which to Choose

October 3, 2026

Jobber vs Housecall Pro compared on 2026 pricing, users, online booking and dispatch, plus which suits a growing team and when a solo operator needs neither.

Full disclosure: I'm Dyllan, and I make InvoiceSonic, one of the options in this guide. I'll say plainly where another tool is the better choice, because for a lot of businesses it is.

Jobber vs Housecall Pro: the short answer

Jobber vs Housecall Pro comes down to team size and how much you will pay per seat. Both run scheduling, dispatch, online booking, quotes customers approve online and invoicing. Jobber starts cheaper for one person and charges a flat US$29 for each extra user; Housecall Pro starts higher but includes more users in its middle plans.

  • Best for a one-person business that will grow: Jobber Core, US$29/month billed annually
  • Best for a 5–8 person team: Housecall Pro Essentials or Max, where more users are included
  • Best if you work alone and do not need dispatch or online booking: InvoiceSonic (mine), free plan or US$14.99/month

When Jobber is the better choice

Jobber is cheaper to start. At one user, Core costs about half of Housecall Pro Basic when both are billed annually. If you are a solo operator who expects to hire one or two people, Jobber's per-user add-on keeps the bill predictable.

When Housecall Pro is the better choice

Housecall Pro becomes competitive once you have a crew. Essentials includes five users and Max includes eight, so a team of that size may pay less per head than adding users one at a time. Its pricing page also leans into customers booking and paying online, which suits busy residential service businesses.

When you might need neither

If you work alone, much of what you pay for in both tools is dispatch and team management. InvoiceSonic covers the solo version of the job: a job record for each enquiry, quotes customers accept online, a day-by-day schedule and invoices with Venmo, Zelle, ACH or a card payment link. InvoiceSonic does not have staff accounts, dispatch, GPS, online booking, timesheets or automatic repeat visits. Jobs is built for owner-operators. If you need any of those, choose Jobber or Housecall Pro.

How to decide in two minutes

  1. Count who needs a login. If only you use it, per-user and dispatch features are cost without benefit. If three or more people need the schedule, team tools earn their price.
  2. Price it at your real numbers. Per-user, per-job and flat pricing rank differently depending on your headcount and how many jobs you do in a busy month.
  3. List the features you would use every week. Online booking, a customer portal and timesheets are only worth paying for if customers or staff will use them.
  4. Use the free trial or free plan on a real job. Quote it, book it and invoice it before you commit.
