MYOB Pricing 2026: Every Plan, Payroll Fees and Real Cost

October 28, 2026

MYOB pricing 2026: Solo A$99 a year, Lite A$315, Pro A$630, payroll rising to A$5 per employee from 1 November, and the real cost per invoice at your volume.

MYOB pricing in Australia starts at A$11 a month, or A$99 a year, for Solo by MYOB. MYOB Business Lite is A$35 a month (A$315 a year), Pro is A$70 a month (A$630 a year) and AccountRight Plus is A$165 a month (A$1,485 a year). We checked these regular prices on MYOB's Australian pricing page in October 2026. They're in AUD, and MYOB's price notices list them as GST inclusive.

Paying yearly saves 25% on every plan that offers it. Payroll on Lite and Pro costs A$3 per employee a month, rising to A$5 from 1 November 2026. A sole trader who is registered for GST and wants to lodge BAS from MYOB needs Lite at minimum, because Solo tracks GST but doesn't lodge BAS.

InvoiceSonic publishes this guide. We make an invoicing app, not accounting software, and we've kept the MYOB numbers as they appear on MYOB's own pages.

MYOB pricing plans compared (October 2026)

MYOB sells one app for sole traders (Solo) and four MYOB Business plans. Here are the regular prices, before any introductory offer.

What each MYOB plan includes

Every MYOB plan includes unlimited quotes and invoices, unlimited expense tracking, online payments and data export. What changes is BAS lodgement, payroll, bank accounts, inventory and where you can use it.

Solo by MYOB: A$11 a month or A$99 a year

Solo is a phone-only app for one person. It includes automated tax and GST tracking, unlimited quotes and invoices, Tap to Pay on your phone, an in-app business bank account and up to 2 connected bank accounts. It doesn't lodge BAS or run payroll. MYOB also says you can't change plan later once you choose Solo, so you can't simply upgrade it to Lite.

MYOB Business Lite: A$35 a month or A$315 a year

Lite is the cheapest MYOB plan that lodges BAS. It works in a web browser and the MYOB Assist app, allows unlimited users (so your bookkeeper or accountant can log in at no extra cost), connects up to 2 bank accounts, covers inventory and orders, and adds payroll for up to 2 employees.

MYOB Business Pro: A$70 a month or A$630 a year

Pro adds unlimited bank accounts, sales orders, standard (rather than basic) reports and payroll for unlimited employees, each charged per person. MYOB offers a 14-day free trial of Pro.

AccountRight Plus: A$165 a month or A$1,485 a year

AccountRight Plus includes desktop software for Windows plus web access, unlimited inventory, billing by time, 24/7 priority chat support and unlimited payroll with no per-employee charge. It also has a 14-day free trial.

MYOB cost: monthly vs yearly

MYOB's yearly prices are exactly 25% below twelve monthly payments on every plan with a yearly option. Solo is A$99 instead of A$132, Lite A$315 instead of A$420, Pro A$630 instead of A$840, and AccountRight Plus A$1,485 instead of A$1,980.

MYOB's FAQ says there's no minimum subscription period or lock-in contract. You pay monthly, or yearly on selected plans, and can cancel at any time. Payroll fees are charged at the end of each month, based on how many employees you paid.

MYOB also runs introductory offers. Here's what the first year cost with the offers advertised when we checked, against the regular price you'll pay from year two:

Plan and billingOffer when checkedFirst yearYear two
Solo, yearlyA$12 for the first 12 monthsA$12A$99
Lite, yearly70% off the first yearA$94.50A$315
Pro, monthly70% off the first 6 months (A$21 a month)A$546A$840 monthly or A$630 yearly
AccountRight Plus, monthly60% off the first 3 months (A$66 a month)A$1,683A$1,980 monthly or A$1,485 yearly

Offers change often, so budget on the year-two figure when you compare software.

MYOB payroll pricing per employee

From 1 November 2026, MYOB payroll costs A$5 per employee paid each month on Lite and Pro, up from A$3. AccountRight Plus includes unlimited payroll at no extra cost. MYOB Business Payroll Only, for up to 4 employees, rises from A$15 to A$20 a month on the same date. If you're on an offer, MYOB applies your discount to the new base price until the offer ends.

Here's the monthly cost with payroll once the new fee applies, using regular monthly prices:

Employees paidLiteProAccountRight Plus
1A$40A$75A$165
2A$45A$80A$165
5Not available (2 max)A$95A$165
10Not availableA$120A$165
19Not availableA$165A$165

On payroll cost alone, Pro and AccountRight Plus break even at 19 employees. Below that, Pro is cheaper unless you need Plus features such as unlimited inventory or billing by time.

MYOB add-ons and extra costs

MYOB's main add-ons are per-employee payroll, inventory and AI BAS. Unlimited inventory costs A$22 a month on Lite or Pro. AI BAS, which prepares your BAS in the background and flags missing documents and GST issues, is an extra purchase on Lite and Pro; its price isn't listed on the pricing page. Card payments from customers carry processing fees, which aren't covered here.

MYOB cost per invoice at your volume

Because MYOB never caps invoices, its cost per invoice falls steadily the more you send. The table divides the regular price by the number of invoices sent each month. Xero and InvoiceSonic are included for comparison, also at prices checked in October 2026.

Invoices a monthMYOB Solo (A$99 a year)MYOB Lite (A$315 a year)MYOB Pro (A$70 a month)Xero (Ignite, then Grow)InvoiceSonic Pro (A$19 a month)
5A$1.65A$5.25A$14.00A$7.40A$3.80
20A$0.41A$1.31A$3.50A$1.85A$0.95
40A$0.21A$0.66A$1.75A$1.95A$0.48
80A$0.10A$0.33A$0.88A$0.98A$0.24

MYOB Solo is the cheapest per invoice of any tool here, and it's a genuinely good deal if a phone app suits you and you don't need to lodge BAS from it. Lite is cheaper than Xero at every volume, because Xero's Ignite plan stops at 20 invoices a month. Pro only makes sense when you need its unlimited bank accounts or payroll.

The Solo BAS catch for GST-registered sole traders

Solo by MYOB tracks GST, but MYOB's comparison table lists BAS lodgement only for Lite, Pro and AccountRight Plus. If you're registered for GST, you'll still lodge your BAS through ATO Online services, your tax agent or another tool.

That's workable for some people. If you want lodgement in the same app, though, Lite at A$315 a year is the real entry price. And because Solo can't be changed to another plan, choose before you set up.

Is MYOB cheaper than Xero?

Yes, at the entry level. MYOB Business Lite costs A$315 a year billed yearly with unlimited invoices, while Xero Ignite costs A$444 a year and caps you at 20 invoices a month. MYOB Pro at A$630 a year undercuts Xero Grow at A$936 a year.

Payroll works differently. Xero includes a set number of people in each plan, while MYOB charges per employee. Xero only sells monthly billing, while MYOB discounts yearly billing by 25%. Our Xero pricing guide has the full Xero plan list and add-ons.

When you don't need MYOB at all

You may not need MYOB at all if you aren't registered for GST, don't employ anyone and mainly need to invoice clients. In that case you're paying for bank reconciliation, BAS and payroll you won't use.

An invoicing-only tool covers the essentials for less: ABN and GST-ready tax invoices, payment details such as PayID, BPAY or bank transfer, and reminders when a client pays late. InvoiceSonic has a free invoice generator with no sign-up, and Pro costs A$19 a month for unlimited invoices, recurring invoices and automatic reminders. It isn't accounting software, so it won't reconcile your bank or lodge BAS. Our MYOB alternative comparison lists exactly what each covers.
